And birth of an idea:

Manubhai Jagjivandas Sheth Trust, since 2008, has been working towards helping people to meet their dreams. We as an organization believe that no one should be denied their rights because of where they were born.

For many years, we have conducted medical camps, awareness Programs, eye donation campaigns, educational assistance, providing monetary help in healthcare treatment, and being a helping hand to NGOs.

After successfully accomplishing all these activities; we as a trust have taken a decision to shift our focus to a specific field. We have streamlined all our efforts and service to fulfill Manubhai Jagjivandas Sheth’s vision of doing welfare activities for underprivileged Special children. We plan on giving direction to this social initiative and in doing so; we have named it as SOCH (Social Organisation for Clinical Healthcare).

And transition to current work

We believe that children are God’s gift and particularly special children are dearest to God as they are innocent throughout their life. It’s a very challenging job to deal with specially abled children as parents tend to get frustrated when dealing with these children.  We believe it is important that parents & people around these children learn ways to inculcate patience for dealing with them. Through the learning that we aim to provide, one will be able to cope up with his or her intellectual and emotional development. Growth and development of special children is another concern, hence we are trying to demonstrate simple ways to understand these children and help them with their development.

In recent years, MJST have made a strategic move from arranging awareness campaigns to treating and providing assistance to specially abled children and their families. Through our collaborative and comprehensive programs, we reach out to parents struggling to cope with the difficulties of understanding and disciplining these children. In response, we at SOCH tend to focus on three programs, education: Educating and counselling parents of specially abled children; therapy: regular sessions for these children and their families; sponsorship: whereby families who cannot afford such therapy and treatment options. With our prime focus being specially abled children, we also provide physiotherapy and assistance for elderly patients.
